A New Path

To reach the end of your life and wish you had time for a few other roads — what could be more human?

Tomorrow I begin the Camino Norte - my 10th Camino. This walk begins almost 10 years since my open heart surgery and 12 since my divorce was finalized, after 4 crushing years spent in court hearings and mediation. I don’t have to walk a Camino to feel grateful and reflect - every day a long scar reminds me to choose what I will fight for wisely, to tell my children they are loved fiercely, and to always choose a large dog over a small one.😉

Don’t wait to do the thing you’ve always wanted to do. If I lost the ability to walk these paths, I could still close my eyes and remember how it felt. But what if you always say “next year” and never step out the door? What will you remember then?
